The Board of Administration（BOA）meeting of DLI was held via video-conference in Room 412, main building of Dalian campus on 22^nd September. The representatives of DUT side were Professor Dongming Guo, President of Dalian University of Technology, Professor Hong Zhu, Vice-President and Standing Committee Member, Professor Jinming Guo, President Assistant. The representatives of UoL side were Professor Nishan Canagarajah, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester, Professor Iain Gillespie and Professor Paul Monks, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of Finance and Academic. The principals in charge of Academic Affairs Office, International Office, Financial Office, School of International Education, School of Chemistry Engineering, and DLI also attended the meeting.

President Guo noted that further cooperation and development between the two universities should focus on advancing various projects orderly and make sure the development of Leicester International Institute achieves breakthroughs, even though we shall face the challenges and pressure against the COVID-19. In the future, DLI has a broad prospect. The two universities should enhance the strength and depth of the collaboration. The channel of the research cooperation should be connected in order to improve the scientific research cooperation coordination mechanism. It requires setting up a joint researching committee, building laboratories jointly, extending the scale of education, cultivating the postgraduate degree jointly. quality and reputation are the most significant factors to deepen the cooperation scale. It is essential for deepen both sides to cooperate in-depth and promote the comprehensive and strategic partnership between DUT and UoL.

The meeting approved the adjustment towards the member list of the joint management committee and debriefed the annual development report of the Leicester International Institute of 2019-2020 academic year. The joint management committee agreed that, in the past year, we have carried out remarkable work in infrastructure, enrollment, programme construction, teaching staff, student training, cooperation， exchange, etc. Till now we have already achieved the construction plan.The next step shall focusing on expanding the scale and influence of our institute and promoting scientific research cooperation between the two sides in order to promote the development of the Leicester International Institute and the collaboration comprehensively between UK and China.

At the meeting, the participants had engaged deep communications and reached a elementary consensus on the topics such as the establishment of a scientific research cooperation committee, building the joint laboratory, expanding of the school scale and jointly training of postgraduates.
