DLI Student Reps attended and Gave Value Sound to the 7th Global Student Leadership Forum, UESTC

On December 3rd, DLI’s student representatives attended the 7th Global Leadership Forum held by Glasgow College, University of Electronic Science and Technology (UESTC). This forum focuses on promoting cooperation and communication with domestic and international universities and improving students’ social responsibility for solving sustainable development and ecological problems.

Yang Lining, Yuan Haoxiang, Zhang Tianyi, Feng Yanzhe, Zou Ziyi and Wang Ruiqi worked together for contributing valuable sound to the forum.

 

UESTC plans and directs this forum every year. Due to the pandemic, more than 80 student representatives from domestic sino-foreign cooperation in running schools have to exchange via video link. This years forum focused on the theme of “Youth Mission for Climate Issues”, and adopted the all-English way to communicate.

Sichuan University-Pittsburgh Institute, Glasgow College, UESTC and DLI jointly made a speech about the severity of Global Warming.

They precisely find the key problems and propose suggestions constantly discovering the corresponding method and showing the great intelligence and confidence of DLI students. Wang Ruiqi, one of the DLI representatives discussed the severity of global warming from five aspects: Meteorological disasters, Food crisis, Water shortage, Destruction of nature, Ecology chain and Frequent fire. 

Since 2018, DLI has participated in this event every year, 4 times in total. Active involvement in such international events enables DLI students to broaden their international vision, improve their understanding of the youth mission and their sense of responsibility to solve social issues, and even further, cultivate their ideas and integrate personal values into social progress and national development.
