Leicester International Institute Held a Teaching Training Session for British Teachers

In the afternoon of October 18, Leicester International InstituteDLI invited Zhang Xiujuan, Associate Professor of the School of Chemical Engineering in Panjin Campus, to conduct training for DLI British teachers through the zoom conference. This training aims to enable British teachers to better understand the domestic teaching mode and students' characteristics, so as to adapt to the joint institute mode and carry out teaching better. Zhao Lingling, DLI Deputy Dean, DLI British teachers at the University of LeicesterUoLand relevant administration staff attended the training meeting.

 

Zhang Xiujuan first expressed her sincere thanks to the teachers of UoL for their active participation. She stressed that all teachers should have a deep understanding of the importance of cooperation between the two universities. She hoped that all teachers would take DLI as a platform to deepen cultural and scientific exchanges between China and Britain and make contributions to the international high-level running of the Institute.

 

Zhang Xiujuan introduced the relevant requirements and attentions of teaching to DLI faculty, reminded them to pay attention to the cultural differences between the two countries, abide by the laws and regulations of the two countries, maintain good professional ethics and academic quality, integrate advanced educational concepts and teaching methods, rigorous academic attitude and scientific spirit into teaching work, and work together to cultivate high-level international talents.

 

Finally, the British teachers actively asked questions about the problems encountered in the teaching which were answered by Zhang Xiujuan patiently.

 

At present, the modules of DLI in the autumn semester have been carried out normally. Students have enjoyed the good teaching condition and communication with UoL teachers. The training session has enhanced exchanges between Chinese and British teachers and laid a foundation for better teaching in the future.
