End

The UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF) is one of the world’s most pre-eminent national assessment exercises and its outcomes are eagerly anticipated by the research community both within, and beyond, the UK. REF evaluates the research status and strength of different disciplines in universities from three aspects: research achievements, research influence and research environment. Among them, scientific research achievements and influence mainly reflect the output of scientific research. For a university or a researcher, the number of "internationally leading" (4 stars) and "internationally excellent" (3 stars) in the REF evaluation is directly related to the academic reputation of the university and its teachers.

The excellent results achieved by the University of Leicester have opened up more possibilities for our two universities working together to explore the fields of natural science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In the future, the two universities will continue to carry out in-depth research exchanges in the academic and scientific research fields, combine the advantages of the disciplines and cultivate high-quality professionals with an international perspective.
