The 2023 Youth Science Camp has been successfully held in Dalian University of Technology (DUT) this summer. 160 high school campers and 16 teachers from Liaoning Province, Hebei Province and Hong Kong came to DUT for a week-long science and technology trip.

The camp activities include lectures by academicians and experts, visits to national key laboratories, "Mentor +" immersive scientific research experience, visits to university students' innovation and practice bases, and hands-on scientific and technological practice through five thematic activity days.

Diversified activities have been held for the campers to know the scientific research and discipline construction of the university. They went into the State Key Laboratories and get close perception of the scientific research strength of nowadays universities. Professors from DUT School of Chemical Engineer, School of Bioengineer and other schools, as the mentors, led the campers to participate in various theme activities.

Liu Jingjing, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee of DUT, made a summary speech at the closing ceremony.

The Camp is organized by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education. It aims to stimulate young people's curiosity, imagination, and desire for knowledge, and to cultivate the fertile soil for science and technology innovation talents. DUT, as the co-organizer of the sub-camp, has cooperated with the Liaoning Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education to organize and held 11 consecutive camps so far as one of the first batch of the participating universities. Nearly 2,000 secondary school students took advantage of the summer holidays to DUT and get to know science and technology at close range.
