I. Introduction

Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is the first newly established formal university initiated by the Communist Party of China on the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China. It was founded with the hands-on purpose of contributing to the development of the industrial system in the new China. DUT is a national key university directly administrated by the Ministry of Education of China and sponsored by Project 211 and Project 985, and was selected into the university of the “Double First-Class” Initiative, category A.

The Panjin Campus is an important part of DUT's school-running pattern of "One University, Two Cities (Dalian and Panjin), Three Campus (Lingshui Campus, Development Zone Campus, Panjin Campus)". The mission of the Panjin Campus is to establish itself as a campus with international characteristics, playing a crucial role in supporting the university's "Double First-Class" construction. It aims to serve as a key pillar for national strategies, contribute to the revitalization of Liaoning and Northeast China, and serve as an important base for talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and achievement transformation in Panjin. The Panjin Campus covers an area of 563,000 square meters, with a building area of 383,000 square meters; Currently, it has 325 faculty members, including 159 teaching and research faculty members. Among them, there are 3 national-level talent award winners, 28 professors with senior titles, and 99 associate professors. The campus has 5,769 enrolled students, including 5,146 full-time undergraduates and 623 postgraduates. As of now, the campus has produced nine cohorts of postgraduates and seven cohorts of undergraduates.

Dalian University of Technology - Leicester International Institute is a non-independent Sino-foreign cooperative education institution jointly established by Dalian University of Technology and the University of Leicester in March 2017. It is one of the secondary colleges affiliated to Dalian University of Technology. The college is located in the Panjin Campus of Dalian University of Technology, with an available area of about 2500m2. The college enrolled students for the first time in 2017 and has admitted eight full-time undergraduate students from 2017 to 2024, with 1190 students enrolled in the 2024-2025 academic year.
