To give full play to the peer-mentoring role of outstanding graduates and to help junior students develop career-planning awareness and map out their development paths in a well-informed way, Leicester International College of Dalian University of Technology (DLI) ran a month-long “DLI Support” experience-sharing series from April to May 2026.
The series comprised eight themed sessions covering direct PhD study at the University of Leicester, applications to universities in Europe and the United Kingdom, postgraduate study in Asia (Singapore and Hong Kong, China), summer camp applications, preparation for the national postgraduate entrance examination, and career guidance. Twenty-four outstanding graduates of the Class of 2026 shared their own experiences across the sessions, providing all-round support for junior students pursuing diverse pathways including overseas study, domestic postgraduate education, grassroots employment and corporate careers.
The series reached a cumulative audience of more than 600 students and was a complete success.

During the sessions, the student speakers explained topics including university positioning, programme selection, document preparation, personal statement polishing, interview techniques, time planning, contacting supervisors, CV refinement and career direction choices. Drawing on real cases, they mapped out key milestones and common pitfalls, offering junior students practical and referential advice. Each session saw active discussion, with students interacting closely with the speakers on pathways for further study, application preparation and career planning.

The successful “DLI Support” experience-sharing series has effectively built a high-quality platform through which experience is passed on and exchanges take place between senior and junior students. It has genuinely helped junior students broaden their horizons, strengthen their planning awareness and clarify their goals, laying a solid foundation for their future study and career paths. Going forward, Leicester International College will continue to focus on the core needs of student growth, further improve its academic support system and career development guidance mechanism, and innovate its working methods and service channels, so as to keep empowering students' high-quality development and all-round growth.
