In the brightness of midsummer, as farewell songs are about to rise and the torch is passed on, Leicester International College of Dalian University of Technology (DLI) held the Appointment Ceremony for Alumni Liaisons of the Class of 2026 on the afternoon of June 11 in Meeting Room C07-207. The ceremony aims to strengthen the bridge of communication between the College and its alumni in China and abroad, deepen the bonds among them, and pool alumni resources and strength.
Mr. Bo Zhao, Deputy Head of the Student Development and Affairs Department of the Panjin Campus, was invited to attend the ceremony.
The appointments cover all nine administrative classes of the 2022 cohort as well as three regions outside the Chinese mainland: Hong Kong (China), the United Kingdom and Singapore. Mr. Bo Zhao and Ms. Lingling Zhao jointly presented appointment medals and customized commemorative gifts to each of the appointed liaisons, expressing the shared aspiration that the College and its alumni move forward together and empower one another.
Afterwards, the teachers present held a focused seminar with all the alumni liaisons. Drawing on their own post-graduation plans and the characteristics of alumni in their regions, the liaisons spoke actively and offered suggestions on core issues including innovation in event formats, the establishment of coordination mechanisms linking alumni in China and abroad, support for alumni career development, the contribution of alumni resources back to the College, and information sharing among graduates — pooling the ideas of young alumni to help the College deliver more targeted alumni services and build a systematic alumni network. Mr. Bo Zhao gave systematic arrangements and a summary on core tasks including alumni information collection and maintenance, day-to-day liaison and event delivery, clarifying the direction and standards for follow-up work. The teachers present also answered on the spot, one by one, the liaisons' questions, the difficulties of serving alumni in different regions and their suggestions for improvement.
Going forward, Leicester International College will take the liaisons of each class and each region as its core links, build a regular, network-based alumni communication system, and continue to strengthen the cohesion of alumni at home and abroad. By coordinating and integrating alumni resources with the College's educational resources, the College seeks to achieve mutual empowerment between alumni growth and institutional development, and to write together a new chapter of high-quality development in which the College and its alumni thrive together.
